The Story Behind Eventswow: From Frustration to a Global Events Platform

by | Jul 20, 2025 | General | 0 comments

There’s a moment every entrepreneur can point to — the moment when an idea refuses to let go. For me, that idea was Eventswow.

I didn’t set out to build a global events platform. In fact, it started with a simple frustration: finding quality information about upcoming trade shows, venues, or organizers — all in one place — was unnecessarily hard. What should have been a simple task often turned into hours of Googling, visiting outdated websites, and clicking through broken links.

At first, I didn’t think much of it. But the more I worked with event professionals and clients in that space, the more I realized this wasn’t just a minor inconvenience. It was a real gap in the market — and one I felt compelled to fill.

The First Spark

The seed for Eventswow was planted back in 2011, when I joined an event company as a web developer. I was handling their website updates, client communications, and digital promotions. As part of my job, I had to search for upcoming expos and B2B trade shows to add to their calendar — and that’s when I felt it firsthand: the disorganized chaos of trying to piece together reliable event information online.

Fast forward to 2014, after moving into full-time remote development and freelance consulting, I decided to register the domain Eventswow.com. I didn’t build the platform right away — I just knew I would come back to it when the time was right. The vision was already forming in the back of my mind: a clean, modern, global directory of events, venues, organizers, and service providers — all in one place.

Building It from Scratch — With No Team, No Funding

In early 2023, I finally decided to start building Eventswow for real. I had no team. No investment. No external pressure. Just my own belief in the idea, and the skills I had developed over the past 12+ years as a WordPress developer and digital strategist.

I worked on it during weekends, late nights, and between client projects. I designed the front end, wrote custom PHP to power the backend, structured the SEO, and manually curated data to populate the site.

Every single line of code, every page layout, every blog post — it was all me. It was tiring, yes. But also deeply satisfying. I wasn’t just building a website. I was creating a platform that I believed the events industry needed — something better, smarter, more useful.

What Makes Eventswow Different?

Most event listing sites stop at just listing events — often scraped from elsewhere, often outdated. I didn’t want to do that. With Eventswow, I wanted to create something comprehensive and human-centered.

Here’s what I focused on:

  • Detailed listings, not just for events, but also for venues, organizers, and service providers.

  • A clean UI that doesn’t feel like 2008.

  • City-based blog content, like “Top 10 Trade Show Venues in Tokyo” or “Best Event Decor Companies in New York.”

  • SEO optimization from the start — every listing, every article, every tag.

  • And now, AI-powered content generation tools to help event professionals write better invites, captions, emails, and press releases instantly.

Over time, it’s grown beyond a simple directory. It’s evolving into a community-powered ecosystem — where event professionals, vendors, and organizers can connect, list, discover, and grow.

Doing Things Differently

One thing I’m proud of is how Eventswow is built with a “real-world” mindset. I didn’t create it for investors. I created it for users.

For people who are:

  • Organizing their first exhibition and need a good venue.

  • Looking for a caterer in Frankfurt or a floral decor vendor in Delhi.

  • Searching for service providers who aren’t listed on just the first page of Google.

  • Or simply trying to promote their event and need a press release or social caption — fast.

By combining curated listings, original SEO blog content, and AI-powered writing tools, Eventswow helps save time while boosting visibility.

And here’s the truth: I don’t think you need to build the next “Unicorn” to make something valuable. You just need to build something people actually want to use.

The Vision Going Forward

As I write this, Eventswow is still growing. I’m expanding the content city by city, adding thousands of listings manually, and slowly creating a full-fledged search engine for the events industry.

My goal is to:

  • Reach 50,000+ listings of service providers, venues, and organizers

  • Publish 1,000+ SEO blog posts that rank and inform

  • Build a real social network for the events industry

  • Introduce premium listing plans so service providers can promote their businesses meaningfully — without ads or junk

  • Launch a mobile app and AI chatbot to make discovery even easier

And maybe, just maybe, turn Eventswow into a trusted global brand in the event tech space.

Why This Matters to Me

I’ve always believed in building digital tools that solve real problems. Eventswow is one of those projects that’s deeply personal. I know how tough it can be to plan events, market them, or find the right help. If I can make that process even a little easier — faster, smarter, less frustrating — then this entire journey will be worth it.

It’s not just about events. It’s about enabling better experiences.

And this blog? It’s where I’ll share the behind-the-scenes journey — the wins, the lessons, and all the ways I’m building this one step at a time.

Thanks for reading.
If you’re in the event space — or just love seeing ideas come to life — I’d love to hear from you.

Let’s make something wow-worthy.
